The mom of a 27-year-old man killed within the taking pictures in Thousand Oaks, Calif. late Thursday night time mentioned her son had survived the October mass taking pictures in Las Vegas.

Telemachus “Tel” Orfanos misplaced his life within the Borderline Bar and Grill, lower than 10 minutes from his house.

Susan Schmidt-Orfanos, her voice and head shaking with grief and rage, mentioned exterior her household’s house, “My son was in Las Vegas with considered one of his mates and he got here house. Telemachus Orfanos was a U.S. Navy veteran with a thick beard, a straightforward smile and a gladiator helmet tattoo.

Photographs on Orfanos’ Fb web page present the Eagle Scout with mates at ballgames or at work. Some pictures are embellished with patriotic graphics and one other marks the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist assaults.

A number of survivors of the Vegas rampage additionally escaped the Borderline assault.

Twelve folks have been killed within the Borderline carnage, together with a sheriff’s deputy described as a “hero.” The gunman was discovered inside, useless of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.
